I&#8217;m not complaining I&#8217;m just stating a fact.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scarlett has a very specific schedule (even for a 4 month old) that&#8217;s\u00a0based on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.contentedbaby.com\/books-Contented_Baby.htm\">The Contented Little Baby<\/a> system.<\/li>\n<li>Westley has his own schedule which includes\u00a0nap-time, bubble-time, lego-time and of course feeding-time. (God forbid my husband is late making dinner, Westley let&#8217;s him know how unacceptable that is.)<\/li>\n<li>My husband has work, a devout yoga practice and the rare\u00a0nap<\/li>\n<li>The two cats have dining demands that are almost as bad as Westley&#8217;s<\/li>\n<li>And I&#8217;m trying to run my own business and blog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Time To Figure Things Out<\/h1>\n<p>For the past few months,\u00a0it seemed\u00a0like my husband and I were failing at managing our house but excelling at getting on\u00a0each other&#8217;s nerves. We realized that the root cause was\u00a0a lack of time management. We tried creating a time management\u00a0system by combining our own personal ones, but that was\u00a0a no-go. It just resulted in more fussing, confusion, crying kids and hungry cats giving\u00a0us\u00a0attitude.The truth is we&#8217;re a young family and we&#8217;re still figuring things out.<\/p>\n<h1>Cozying Up To Cozi<\/h1>\n<p>After reaching the end of my rope,\u00a0I did a little research for some outside help and came across this amazing life-saving home management\u00a0system, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cozi.com\/\">Cozi<\/a>. Cozi is an online Family Organizing\u00a0system and it is frickin&#8217;\u00a0awesome. Pretty much a small group of techies turned parents used\u00a0their expertise to\u00a0create Cozi. Basically, this app helps a family manage:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>calendars<\/li>\n<li>to do lists<\/li>\n<li>shoppings lists<\/li>\n<li>recipes<\/li>\n<li>meal plans<\/li>\n<li>family journals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For us, as a young family, the calendar is\u00a0the best part of the app. Like I said above, everyone in my house has\u00a0their own schedule.\u00a0With everyone&#8217;s schedule being in one place we were finally able to clearly see why things were getting crazy. The best insight was around dinner time. After taking a weekend afternoon to enter EVERYTHING that needed to be done on an hour by hour basis into the calendar, we could see why dinner time was the hardest part of the day. Prior to Cozi we were just winging it and the result was always the same\u00a0&#8211; CHAOS! Using Cozi forced us to see that between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm we needed to assign the following tasks versus shouting back and forth to each other about who was going to do what:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cook dinner<\/li>\n<li>Clean up after dinner<\/li>\n<li>Entertain\/watch Westley while cooking dinner<\/li>\n<li>Get Scarlett to sleep\u00a0for her evening nap<\/li>\n<li>Sit down to\u00a0enjoy dinner<\/li>\n<li>Feed the cats WET food (their favorite)<\/li>\n<li>Pump breastmilk (this was clearly my task)<\/li>\n<li>Get the kids ready for bed<\/li>\n<li>Clean up the playspace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinkimono.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Cozi-Dinner-Schedule-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1966\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pinkimono.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Cozi-Dinner-Schedule-01-1024x459.png\" alt=\"Cozi Dinner Schedule-01\" width=\"720\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.pinkimono.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Cozi-Dinner-Schedule-01-1024x459.png 1024w, http:\/\/www.pinkimono.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Cozi-Dinner-Schedule-01-300x134.png 300w, http:\/\/www.pinkimono.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Cozi-Dinner-Schedule-01-768x344.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After seeing everything that had to be done, we could clearly see and anticipate\u00a0the high-stress hours in our day. The schedule\u00a0doesn&#8217;t make them go away, but it does make us ready to deal with them and in a productive and happier way. Now the dinner hour doesn&#8217;t cause tension or spark an unnecessary fight and instead, we all enjoy dinner time, playtime and the bedtime routine.<\/p>\n<h1>Our\u00a0Other Favorite Cozi Goodies<\/h1>\n<p>The other goodies in the system that makes life easier are having the meal plan and grocery lists in the same digital place. Now when it&#8217;s my husband&#8217;s night to cook, he can check the plan from his phone and see if I&#8217;ve adjusted the plan versus waiting to see something written on a board on the fridge. (Sometimes, tuna melt night because Vietnamese Spring Roll night because I just gotta have a spring roll.)
